Shaving Cream Design

This is a great sensory activity for any theme.  We were studying dinosaurs so I made a shaving cream dinosaur (Diplodocus to be exact, most kids call them long necks).  I set out liquid watercolor and droppers for the kids to paint the shaving cream.  I also set out corn meal and we discovered that it was wonderful for absorbing and watercolor that tends to run.  What fun!!  Easy clean up…use a tray or other hard plastic to just scoop into the trash…the kids love to help clean.

Hello world!

Hello Blogger World!  This is my first blog so I am feeling a little overwhelmed…   I am a teacher intern in a wonderful teacher-prep program through Stanley British Primary School in Denver, CO.  Check out their website for more info http://stanleybps.org/  Some of my posts are from a young Kindergarten, 4 1/2-5 year olds, or from a 1st and 2nd grade mixed age classroom.  I am borrowing ideas from other wonderful educators and attempting to create my own.  The education world is all about sharing in order to give students the best chance to learn and have A LOT of FUN doing it!!  I hope you like what you see.  Please leave feedback, let me know if you try any of my ideas, and any tweaks and successes you have….ENJOY!!!
